From art and history museums to science museums to music museums, there’s something for everyone in this great state. Here are 8 museums rated 5 stars by tourists!

EAST TENNESSEE

  1. Titanic Museum Attraction (Pigeon Forge)

Experience the life and stories of those who were transported onboard Titanic, brought to you by the fun crew of Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge. As you walk through the exhibits, a card about the passengers on Titanic will be given to each visitor. The information learned from reading these profiles can help people better understand and honor the 2,208 Passengers & Crew by learning their stories. 2. Knoxville Museum of Art (Knoxville)

If you’re looking for a chill museum visit with your family and friends, or alone (’cause why not?) Head out to KMA!

The Knoxville Museum of Art is home to one of the most diverse collections in East Tennessee, with works from around the world. The permanent exhibits offer an introduction to this rich culture, old and new, of the Southern Appalachians.  Higher Ground: A Century of the Visual Arts in East Tennessee, a permanent exhibition of works from the mid-nineteenth to the late-twentieth century, spotlights the compelling and heretofore largely unknown visual arts legacy of Knoxville and the region. The Admission is FREE!

MIDDLE TENNESSEE

  1. Cannonsburgh Village (Murfreesboro)

You can see how pioneers lived out their lives, living in Cannonsburgh Village Murfreesboro representing more than 100 years of early Tennessee history! Cannonsburgh, the original name for Murfreesboro, is a reconstructed Southern village with a gristmill, one-room schoolhouse, town hall, log home, church, general store, and a working blacksmith’s shop that serve as reminders of life in pioneer times. 2. Customs House Museum and Cultural Center (Clarksville)

The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center in Clarksville is a great place to visit if you’re looking for something more than just history. The museum has over 35000 square feet of space filled with science, and art pieces from all around the world as well as an extensive collection of Tennessee-based culture!
